What are the mistakes we are doing nowadays?
"Jack Of All Trades, Master Of Non"
We've seen dozens of ideas on the web, people selling, people providing. People whom failed in the process.
What's the reason behind that?
Now let us take a look on the big names for a bit. Let's take a look at Kentucky Fried Chicken, KFC.
What do they specialize in? Chickens.
Every time when someone mentions KFC, the first thought in our mind is chicken, fried chicken to be precise. With their secret blend of '11 herbs and spices'.
Now let's take a look at Pizza Hut. What do we get? Pizzas, tomato sauce, with their stretchy cheese stretching out as you take a bite. Not forgetting the chunks of meat on it. Or for some their salted anchovies.
With this 2 major brand names. I guess you could roughly get an idea. When you wanna have fried chickens for dinner where would you go? Or if you felt like having pizza for the party you're having who would you call?
Now let's bookmark that thought for a bit.
About marketing. If you want answers for a dog training (I've notice lots of marketers love to take dog training as an example) you wouldn't go looking in a cat training website. Would you?
Even worse... Would you sell cat food on a dog training website? Try selling birth control pills on a gaming website. I dare to say you won't get results.
A niche is important in marketing and advertising.
Now let's get down to copywriting.
If you're a dog lover and you're visiting a dog's lover site. Would you be happy if I write to you about the benefits of having a cat? For all we know you might a cat hater and at the first phrase your eyes catch upon me saying I LOVE CATS, you might just close the site.
"The importance of a niche" is like placing a child in a room full of toys, a female in a room full of branded clothings, a sport fanatic in a room full of sports related stuffs and a bookworm in a room full of books.
By placing the right person in the right room, you'll get more interactions. More impressions on your ads. More clicks on your banners, more read through your articles. And of course more moolahs for you.
Next post, we'll go through the importance of Micro Niche.
Yes, at the next post we'll be downsizing.
Cheers.
